Traffic Stop In Anne Arundel County Nets Drugs, Weapon

A Baltimore man was charged with multiple offenses after Anne Arundel County police officers discovered drugs and a weapon in his vehicle.

ANNE ARUNDEL, MD – Detectives with the Northern District Tactical Patrol Unit of the Anne Arundel County Police Department made an interesting discovery during a routine traffic stop May 28. Officers pulled over a vehicle at approximately 9:30 p.m. near 5501 Ritchie Highway for a moving violation and a safety equipment violation.

The sole occupant of the vehicle consented to a search and that’s when officers discovered the following items:

  • 10 oxycodone, 5 mg ($5/pill)
  • 55.6 grams (approximate) of marijuana
  • .22 caliber Chiappa rifle with a magazine inserted, magazine held 26 rounds of ammunition
  • $2,421 in U.S. Currency

According to a police report, officers charged 30-year-old Andre Lamar Arthur of Baltimore with possession of marijuana, possession/PWID oxycodone, firearm/drug trafficking, CDS distribution with firearm and firearm use in felony.
