6 Firefighters Injured In Baltimore Blaze: Officials

Several firefighters were injured in a fire in east Baltimore Wednesday morning, authorities said.

BALTIMORE, MD —Multiple firefighters were injured in a two-alarm house fire near Patterson Park Wednesday morning, according to city fire officials. The fire occurred around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Six firefighters were injured in the blaze, which broke out in the 400 block of North Glover Street, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.

The firefighters were hospitalized for non-life-threatening burns to the hands and/or face after encountering heavy fire and smoke when they entered the row house, city fire spokeswoman Blair Adams told Fox 45, noting one sustained second-degree burns. When crews arrived, she said there was smoke showing from multiple floors, and firefighters entered from the front and the back.

The resident was able to get out, Adams said, and as of 9 a.m. most of the fire had been knocked.
