City of Baltimore: "No Purple Doubt" NFL Ravens vs Vikings, Orioles Seek-to-Sweep Rays Monday

August 17, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting its Sports'tastic Monday in B'more. 

This past Saturday the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 24-7 to win its first of 3 NFL preseason games. Next up the Ravens will be on the road vs the other team that wears purple, the Minnesota Vikings.  

The Vikings have a long-rich NFL history, they have appeared in 4 Super Bowls, unfortunately they lost all 4. The last Super Bowl they played in (SB XI) was after the 1976 season on January 9, 1977 vs the Oakland Raiders a 32-14 loss. Almost 20-years later on September 1, 1996 the Ravens played their 1st game as a Baltimore franchise vs the Raiders a 19-14 win at old Memorial Stadium. The 1976 NFL MVP was Bert Jones of the then Baltimore Colts.  

There's "No Purple Doubt" when the two-teams meet it's a "Battle of Purple". Last November 9, 2025 the Ravens went on the road and defeated Minnesota 27-19 during the regular-season. This is only preseason, but Baltimore wants Minnesota to know who's the dominant team that wears the color, "No Purple Doubt". Former Vikings Legend RB Chuck Foreman was from Frederick, MD and attended Frederick High School. He's a member of the Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame.  

The "No Purple Doubt" motto/slogan is gaining more-and-more traction on social media and Google AI. It has a Jay-Z like-vibe that will make the Ravens that much cooler of a team around the country. 

Superstar-hip-hop Icon Jay-Z released his debut album "Reasonable Doubt"  on June 25, 1996, a few weeks before the 1st-ever Baltimore Ravens training camp that featured future Hall of Famers Ray Lewis & Jonathan Ogden.

MLB postseason talk is heating up, the Baltimore Orioles are looking to sweep the AL East leading Tampa Bay Rays today. The O's have won the first 3 of the 4-game series. Yesterday The Birds dominated the Rays to a 10-2 blowout win. Game-time today starts at 6:05 PM. 

The Orioles will have a 6-game homestand starting tomorrow vs the NY Yankees and Rays. These are the 2 leading teams in the AL East.  A victorious homestand increases the O's playoff-push with crucial games/series coming in late August & September.  Currently the O's (61-63) are tied with the Texas Rangers for the 3rd AL Wild Card playoff spot.
