
Josh Morris brings his quartet -- along with a number of original compositions -- to An die Musik Live! He aims to explore the bounds of new sound on the trumpet and take the music into a new undiscovered direction.

Josh Morris is a Maryland born jazz and contemporary trumpet player and composer, currently studying under Grammy-winner Sean Jones at the Peabody Institute. He coleads The Ambient Project, a duo exploring contemporary jazz, textural improvisation, and freeform sonic landscapes. His composition Beltway was a 2024 WAMMIE Awards finalist for Jazz Song of the Year. He was a member of the University of North Texas Two O’Clock Lab Band as a freshman. In 2022, he performed with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra in Joe Wilder: The Pretty Sound. Other performance credits include JEN, the MidAtlantic Jazz Festival, Keystone Korner, and collaborations with Miguel Zenón, Randy Brecker, George Cables, and Jon Faddis.
