BALTIMORE, MD – The NFL released the 2019 football schedules Wednesday night, revealing the Baltimore Ravens will kick off the season in Miami on Sunday, Sept. 8. The home opener will be on Sunday, Sept. 15, against the Arizona Cardinals.

In a change from the 2018 schedule, when the Ravens were on the road for three weeks in a row at one point, this year has the team alternating home and away games, with a bye week in the middle of the season.

It's the fourth time that a team has had that kind of balanced schedule since 1978, according to ESPN.

The other teams that had a perfectly balanced schedule were the 2012 Atlanta Falcons, who finished 13-3; the 1991 Tampa Buccaneers, with a record of 3-13; and the 1985 Atlanta Falcons, who had a 4-12 run, ESPN reported.

Another element changing things up this season for the Ravens will be Lamar Jackson as starting quarterback, after he assumed that role in December.

The Ravens, who finished last year 10-6 with a loss to the L.A. Chargers in the AFC Wild Card game in the playoffs, will hit prime time three nights this season — on Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football.

  • In Week 9, the Ravens will face off against the New England Patriots at M&T Bank Stadium in a game broadcast on NBC at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.
  • In Week 12, the Ravens will play Monday night football against the Rams at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. That game will take place at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, and will be featured on ESPN.
  • In Week 15, the Ravens will host the New York Jets for Thursday night football at 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 12, broadcast on Fox.

The Ravens will take on rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers twice this season. First, the Ravens will travel to Heinz Field on Sunday, Oct. 6. Then, to close out 2019, the Baltimore Ravens will take on Pittsburgh at home on Sunday, Dec. 29.
