Vehicle Of Charla Melvin Found In Baltimore: Police

Police said the Hyundai Santa Fe of Charla Melvin, who was reported missing last week, has been found.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police said the vehicle of a missing Baltimore County woman has been found. Charla Melvin, 50, of the 3700 block of Twin Lakes Court, was last seen Saturday, Sept. 7.

Police said her black 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with Maryland plates 3CR7429 was found on Manhattan Avenue at Jonquil Avenue the morning of Monday, Sept. 16. Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department said they took the vehicle for forensic examination.

A body found in the 2300 block of Hollins Street Saturday, Sept. 14, is believed to be that of Melvin. As of Sunday afternoon, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner still had to positively identify her but police said in a statement: "Investigators are confident that the body is of Charla Melvin."

Police said they suspected Melvin was the victim of foul play after the body of her cousin, Thomas Davis Jr., was found Sept. 10 in Baltimore from what city police later determined was suicide. The body of Davis was located across the street from Carver Vocational Technical High School, WMAR reported.
