8 Field Fires Reported In Harford County Thursday: Officials
Many fires reported this week have been preventable, Harford County emergency personnel said.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ā Eight outdoor blazes were reported on Thursday in Harford County, which was at increased risk of flames spreading due to dry, windy conditions.
There were no injuries in the incidents, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokeswoman Jenn Chenworth. However, she said that many of the fires this week have been preventable.

- Trash burning, 700 block of Milldale Court, Fallston; crews were at the scene for an hour.
- Field fire on 0.75 acre on Somerville Road, Bel Air; firefighters worked to contain flames in steep terrain.
- Woods fire in the 2400 block of Linda Lane, Jarrettsville.
There were several fires outside Harford County as well on Thursday afternoon.
A brush fire was reported in western Howard County after a utility pole fell, leading to a 0.5-acre blaze, officials there said.

In addition, a 15-acre brush fire in Baltimore County drew first responders from several jurisdictions to Randallstown for hours.
Harford County is in a moderate drought, according to the National Weather Service.
According to Chenworth, people can minimize the risk of flames spreading by placing smoking materials in proper receptacles and refraining from lighting fires outside when there is an enhanced fire threat.
