Bel Air Armed Robbery Attempted With Hatchet: Police

A Royal Farms in Bel Air was the scene of an attempted robbery earlier in January, Maryland State Police reported.

BEL AIR, MD — Authorities are seeking information about an armed robbery suspect in Bel Air. Police said the man tried to rob the Royal Farms on MD 22.

He walked into the Royal Farms in the 1600 block of East Churchville Road with a hatchet that was hidden in his jacket and attempted a robbery, according to authorities.

He is 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, officials reported.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black hat, black jacket, gray sweatpants and black mask at the time of the robbery attempt, which occurred around 4:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8.
