Deer Takes a Dip, Gets Stuck in Bel Air Pool: Sheriff

Animal control officer helped animal to safety, according to Harford County Sheriff's Office.

During the heat wave earlier this week, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office was called to Bel Air, where a stranger took a dip in a backyard swimming pool.

A member of Animal Control Services responded to Westview Court and rescued a deer that had gotten stuck in the pool, according to Kyle Andersen, spokesman for the sheriff’s office. It was not immediately available how the officer helped the deer get out, he said.

A few years ago, a deer that fell into a covered pool in Colorado was brought to safety by firefighters who built a ramp so he could walk up from the deep end, the Huffington Post reported; the event was captured on video.

And deer aren’t the only ones getting into people’s pools. Earlier this summer, animal control in New Jersey responded to a home where a mama bear and her cubs romped around in their kiddie pool.
