DWI Checkpoint Coming Up In Harford County

Deputies will be looking for those who are above the legal blood alcohol limit on Harford County roads.

BEL AIR, MD - The Harford County Sheriff's Office has announced there will be a checkpoint for drivers who are driving while intoxicated (DWI) in the first two weeks of August.

The checkpoint will take place on Thursday, Aug. 10, according to the sheriff's office. The location was not disclosed. However, officials did say that the enforcement initiative will take place during the evening hours.

By law, authorities must announce sobriety checkpoints. A Supreme Court case in 1990 determined citizens' rights against unlawful search and seizure are not violated if checkpoints are publicized in advance.
