A hearing is to be held Friday, April 27, to discuss what evidence will be allowed at Prince's May trial in Delaware, according to The News Journal, which reports his attorney filed documents indicating he plans to plead insanity, used when a mentally ill person is unable to understand that what they are doing is wrong.
Harford County State's Attorney Joseph Cassilly said that Prince would be tried in Delaware before his case is heard in Maryland, in part because he could be sentenced to life without parole in convicted on the attempted murder charge. The decision was made despite the fact that he faces three murder charges in Maryland.

Three people died in the shootings at Advanced Granite Solutions in Edgewood, where Prince is accused of opening fire on his coworkers at 8:58 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2017.
Prince, of the 100 block of Clinton Street in Elkton, reportedly then drove a black SUV from Maryland to Delaware.
At 10:46 a.m., he allegedly shot someone he knew at a car dealership in Wilmington, Delaware, which led to the charges in that state.
Despite being shot in the head, the victim was "conscious and alert," Wilmington Police Chief Robert Tracy said.
The victim in Wilmington identified the suspect as Prince by name when police arrived at the scene. "They have a past history," Tracy said without elaboration. "These were targeted shootings. He drove straight from Maryland to that individual."
