Harford Community College Tennis Teams Earn National Ranking

Harford's Men's and Women's tennis programs and seven student-athletes were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

From Harford Community College Athletics: Harford's tennis programs and seven student-athletes were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings which nationally ranked the men's team at 9th and the women at 24th. The men's tennis team holds the national ranking at 9th which is the highest in program history, while adding five singles and two pairs of doubles to the rankings.

Of the Top 50 players nationwide, Pablo Safont Ferrer is ranked 25th; the highest individual ranking in Fighting Owls history. He is followed by Xavier Graells (32nd), Bradley Schug (41st), Alejandro Serrano Clarke (48th) and Tomas Eduardo Parra Pozo (50th).

In Region 4 of the NJCAA, Fighting Owls are 3rd behind ASA Miami and ABAC. With another high ranking, Safont starts at 11th with fellow teammate Schug 15th. Close behind are Serrano at 17th, Parra 19th, and Olive Kenward at 23rd to round out the regionally ranked singles for Harford. The trio of doubles that were ranked included Ferrer/Schug at 6th, Graells/Parra 8th, and Kenward/Serrano 11th.

The women's team also showed up on the national rankings at 24th. The Fighting Owls women's program had a lone singles player, Fatima Murphy, ranked regionally at 20th.
