HCPS Makes Weather Call For Tuesday, January 7
BREAKING: Harford County Public Schools made an announcement due to Tuesday's anticipated snow.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Harford County Public Schools has canceled after-school activities Tuesday because of the winter weather in the forecast, officials said.
About 1 to 3 inches of snow may fall starting in the afternoon in Harford County, which is under a winter weather advisory, according to the National Weather Service.
All after-school and evening activities as well as child care programs are canceled Tuesday, Jan. 7, Harford County Public Schools reported. Any activities held on school property and school-sponsored events are canceled as well.

Harford County is not the only jurisdiction making changes based on the forecast.
Prince George's County Public Schools also canceled after-school and evening activities.

Public schools in Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery and Washington counties are letting out early Tuesday based on projected inclement weather. Anne Arundel County is opening four warming centers overnight.
Harford, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick and Howard counties as well as Baltimore City are under a winter weather advisory from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday calling for snow that may make roads slippery and travel hazardous.
Cecil County is under a winter weather advisory from 5 p.m. to midnight calling for up to 3 inches of snow.
