School Resource Officer IDed Edgewood Homicide Suspect: Sheriff
A school resource officer was credited with identifying the suspect in a homicide.

A school resource officer is credited with identifying the suspect in the deadly Edgewood shooting that happened last week. Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said the officer recognized the teen and enabled authorities to obtain a warrant for his arrest.
Anthony Lamar Martin Jr., 16, of the 2900 block of Siwanoy Drive in Edgewood, is wanted in connection with the homicide, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. He is accused of gunning down a Joppa man after 3 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. He remains at large nearly a week later.
During a press conference Wednesday afternoon announcing the addition of school resource officers to elementary schools in Harford County, Gahler shared how a school resource officer, known as an SRO, helped put the pieces together for investigators.

"In our recent homicide in Edgewood, we identified that suspect because of our SRO program," Gahler said.
The break came after a photo was released internally by investigators in the sheriff's office, he reported.

"Within minutes, one of our SROs was able to quickly identify the suspect, put a name to the picture and allow us to obtain an arrest warrant for that subject," Gahler said.
Another school resource officer also led investigators to a person of interest tied to the suspect in that case, he added.
Officials have not released a motive in the Nov. 1 killing of Joshua Dwayne Crouse, 40, of Joppa. He was found in the 1800 block of Grempler Way with multiple gunshot wounds at 3:19 a.m. Friday.
Anyone who sees Martin should call 911 immediately; do not approach him. Officials say he may be armed and dangerous.
