Teen Recovering After King And Queen Seat Fall, Officials Say
A teen is hospitalized after falling at Rocks State Park, according to the Maryland Natural Resources Police and members of his family.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — While police initially said a Pennsylvania teen died after a fall over the weekend at Rocks State Park, those who identified themselves as his relatives said that was not the case. The Maryland Natural Resources Police later changed their statement and said he was alive.
The 17-year-old was with his friends when he fell from King and Queen Seat around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Lauren Moses, spokeswoman for the Maryland Natural Resources Police.
After the fall, the teen was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, she said. At first, Moses said the teen suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. On Tuesday, she said the teen had died.

Those who identified themselves as relatives of the boy disputed the information provided to Patch on Wednesday, stating the teen was at the hospital and on the road to recovery.
"Nathan is my nephew, he is absolutely alive and recovering," Jacky Barna posted in response to the article on Bel Air Patch. She said she is his aunt.

"After speaking with the investigating officers, we can confirm that the boy is still alive and recovering," Moses said Wednesday following consultation with investigators from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police. "There was a bit of miscommunication that resulted in the inaccurate statement. I apologize on behalf of our agency for the misunderstanding."
Moses said there were several agencies involved in the investigation.
The scenic outcropping about 190 feet above Deer Creek has been the site of several falls over the years.
A 22-year-old Howard County man died after falling from King and Queen Seat on Presidents Day when he lost his footing, officials said.
A man also died in a fall at King and Queen Seat in Rocks State Park in June 2018, and another person died there in July 2015 in what was believed to be a suicide.
