Teen Rescued from King and Queen Seat, Officials Say
A medevac was called and part of Route 24 was shut down, according to first responders.

A teen who lost his footing while climbing at King and Queen Seat Monday afternoon was airlifted to shock trauma, where he was expected to recover, Maryland Natural Resources Police reported.
The 16-year-old was in the midst of ”free-climbing” during a family outing when he fell 12 to 15 feet, according to the report.
First responders were dispatched to Rocks State Park at approximately 3:40 p.m. Monday, said Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The medevac airlifted the boy to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where natural resources police said he was expected to recover from his injuries.
The fall comes less than a week after an individual committed suicide at King and Queen Seat, a scenic rocky outcropping above Deer Creek.
The rescue also occurred the day after a 15-year-old girl was taken by medevac from Gunpowder State Park in serious condition from an incident that reportedly occurred while swimming.
