TIC Gums Fire Caused $10K In Damage: Fire Marshal

A fire Tuesday morning in Belcamp at TIC Gums caused no injuries and is under investigation, authorities say.

BELCAMP, MD — A fire at TIC Gums drew hazmat crews to Belcamp Tuesday morning, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

At 8:06 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 4600 block of Richlynn Drive, where officials said there was an active fire in a boiler. Harford County's hazardous materials officials were also called to the facility, which manufactures gum and celluloid-based products to improve the texture of foods.

Employees found the fire, which approximately 20 firefighters brought under control within 30 minutes, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
