Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac Among America's Richest Communities

A new census analysis published in Bloomberg ranks America's richest communities. Several Montgomery County communities made the list.

BETHESDA, MD — Where do America's richest residents live? According to a new analysis of census data published by Bloomberg, cities and towns with ties to Wall Street and Silicon Valley had the highest U.S. household incomes in 2015. The richest households weren't isolated to the coasts, with some communities in between also making the list.

While it's not surprising that several Montgomery County communities made the list, it may be a bit of a shade-throwing moment to find that "The Real Housewives of Potomac" don't live in the county's ritziest community. The leader on the list is Travilah at No. 24, while Bethesda was the "poorest" on the list at No. 75.
