Body Found at House Fire; Second Person Dead in Car Crash

Montgomery County Police are investigating two deaths in the area of Piney Meeting House and River roads in Potomac.

A public information officer will brief the media soon on the case, according to the department’s Twitter feed.

Police are investigating the possibility the incidents, which happened less than a mile apart, are related, reports WTOP.

One person was found dead in the garage of a home and another died in a car accident at the intersection of Piney Meeting House and River roads. Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area, which is just north of Falls Road.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer says via Twitter that a small fire in a garage at a house led emergency responders there. In the garage at 12045 Great Elm Drive, firefighters found a body.
