Chevy Chase Native Wins National Title at North American Bridge Championships (NABC) in Providence, R.I.

Beth Palmer of Chevy Chase, Md., and her team of four won the Marsha May Sternberg Women’s Board-a-Match Teams event at the Fall North American Bridge Championships (NABCs), one of 10 championship-level events held in Providence, R.I., from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7.

Members of the team (pictured left to right) included Lynn Deas (25 NABC titles) of Schenectady, N.Y., Tobi Sokolow (18 NABC titles) of Austin, Texas, Janice Seamon-Molson (17 NABC titles) of Hollywood, Fla., Jim Sternberg (provider of the trophy that goes to the winners), and Beth Palmer (27 NABC titles).

The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The 2015 Spring NABCs will be held in New Orleans, La., from March 12 to March 22.
