Give a little, change a life. This year’s Pan Asian Volunteer Health Clinic (PAVHC) at the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center’s (CCACC) Do More 24 campaign came to a successful close with donations reaching $4390.00 within a short 24-hour period. It is thanks to the many generous donors online, offline, and countrywide that we nearly reached our goal of $5000.00 this year.

With the money raised, we were able to purchase 49 out of our goal of 50 Pap Smear test kits to help low-income and uninsured women prevent cervical cancer.

“Is it okay if I only donate $5? I want to participate, but I live off of food stamps.” This was the donation from an 80 year-old patient who happened to come to PAVHC for a checkup during the campaign.

“I am donating in memory of my mother-in-law who has passed. I hope there will be no more cervical cancer in the world.” This was from an anonymous donor who contributed a generous amount during the final stretch of the campaign.

With our actions, we’ve broken the solid impression that Asian Americans are stingy and don’t care about the community. During this donation period, we not only witnessed many generous contributions, but also a group of people who came together to support one cause. Together, we have to power to create a loving and caring Asian community. We’d like to express our deepest gratitude for making this possible, and hope to have your continued support again next year.
