Little Sesame Cancels Plans To Open Eatery In Bethesda: Report

Little Sesame, a shop that offers hummus and seasonal pita sandwiches, said this week that it was canceling its move to Bethesda.

BETHESDA, MD — A year after announcing plans to open a shop in Bethesda Row, Little Sesame, a restaurant that offers hummus and seasonal pita sandwiches, said this week that it was canceling its move to Bethesda.

Little Sesame announced Monday it was consolidating restaurant operations to its shop in downtown D.C. at 1828 L Street NW and closing its Chinatown location on Thursday, The MoCo Show reported Tuesday.

The company confirmed to The MoCo Show that the Bethesda location would not be opening and that it would be “sticking to just one location for the time being.”

The decision not to open new brick-and-mortar eateries, including the shop in Bethesda Row, was “due to the uncertain climate which the pandemic afforded the restaurant industry as a whole,” Little Sesame told Bethesda Beat.

Little Sesame will focus on its hummus production operation. The company opened a hummus factory in Prince George’s County six months ago.
