Man Wanted For Theft, Assault At Verizon Store In Bethesda

Investigators released surveillance video showing a suspect stealing property and then assaulting a contractor at a Bethesda Verizon store.

BETHESDA, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department continue to investigate a February 21 theft and assault of a contractor at a Verizon store in Bethesda. On Thursday, investigators released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

On February 21 at approximately 12:14 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the Verizon store located at 6932 Wisconsin Ave. for the report of a theft and an assault that had just occurred, police said.

The investigation by officers revealed that the suspect entered the Verizon store and immediately went to a display rack of headphones. The suspect stole three boxes of headphones and ran toward the store’s front door. A contractor, who was performing maintenance on the front door, was assaulted by the suspect as he fled from the store, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this crime is asked to call the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest for this crime.
