MD Man Wins $50,000 Powerball Prize
A Chevy Chase man won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing after purchasing a ticket at a local Giant Food location.
BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE, MD — A real estate agent is $50,000 richer after clinching a winning lottery ticket.
Maryland Lottery revealed in a Thursday release that the Chevy Chase man was no stranger to the lottery game as he routinely buys a Powerball ticket every month.
His golden ticket was bought Feb. 9 at a vending machine inside the Giant Food store at 8500 Connecticut Ave.

The man, who's worked in real estate for the last six years, did not realize he'd won until Feb. 11, when he heard that someone had bought a winning ticket at the same Giant Food he frequented.
Looking to the future, the man intends to put the winnings toward buying a house, with a portion going into a high-yield savings account.
