Potomac House Partially Collapses After Fire
A TV news helicopter flying over the scene had engine problems and had to make an emergency landing, officials said.
A house fire in Potomac overnight led to two emergencies: first the fire itself and then an emergency landing by a TV news helicopter flying over the scene.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
The two-story house under construction in the 8500 block of Horseshoe Lane, Potomac partially collapsed from the fire damage, according to Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.

Then, WUSA9’s helicopter Sky9 made a soft emergency landing on Brent Road near the fire. Smoke was coming from the helicopter, the TV station reports.
Piringer said the chopper didn’t crash and there was no fire.
Fire crews were helping the crew check on the helicopter’s engine and components Tuesday morning.
