Armed Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Strong Arm Robbery Reported: Hyattsville Police
Hyattsville Police reported an armed carjacking, armed robbery and a strong arm robbery in a 3-day period.
HYATTSVILLE, MD — In a three-day period, Hyattsville Police received reports of an armed carjacking, an armed robbery and a strong arm robbery.
On Sept. 30 at approximately 8:58 p.m., officers responded to the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road for an armed carjacking. According to the victim, an unknown man wearing a ski mask walked up to the victim and demanded the keys to their 2015 black Dodge Dart. The victim handed over the keys and the suspect drove the stolen vehicle into Washington, D.C.
On Oct. 1 at approximately 10:48 a.m., officers responded to the 5300 block of Queens Chapel Road for an armed robbery. The victim stated that a group of unknown men approached them while pumping fuel, pulled out a handgun and demanded property. The victim complied and gave the suspects his wallet, then the suspects left the scene immediately in a white Nissan Sentra. No injuries were reported.

On Oct. 2 at 3:38 p.m., units responded to the 5400 block of Queens Chapel Road for a strong-arm robbery inside a commercial store. Once there, officers detained the suspect, who employees said stole an item. The employees also said the suspect threatened and pointed a knife at one of the associates. At the time of the incident, the suspect requested to be taken to a hospital for medical assistance. After the suspect was medically evaluated, HPD charged and booked them.
