Bowie Man Held on Child Pornography Charges

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated David Tranberg for child exploitation.

A Bowie man has been arrested by the Maryland State Police, Computer Crimes Section, on child pornography-related charges.

David Carl Tranberg, 40, was arrested without incident Tuesday during an investigation into child exploitation.

Authorities say that after a month-long investigation, a search and seizure warrant was executed Tuesday in Prince George’s County by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Department of Homeland Security Investigations and Naval Criminal Investigative Services.

Investigators identified Tranberg as the focus of the investigation. Tranberg was arrested on four counts of distributing child pornography and four counts of possession of child pornography.

Tranberg was taken to the Prince George’s County Detention Center, where he was waiting to see a District Court Commissioner.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation.
