Capitol Heights Man Arrested After Smashing Woman's Face Into the Ground: Police
Keith Ames, Jr. also choked and threatened to kill the woman, police say.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A Capitol Heights man is under arrest on first degree assault charges after police say he smashed a woman's face into the ground and started choking her after an argument.
Keith Ames, Jr. also faces charges of second degree assault and malicious destruction of property in connection with the incident, which happened in the 3600 block of Reistertown Road in Baltimore County on Aug. 3, according to a statement from the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office.
"Once on scene the police met with the victim, who stated that she was involved in a verbal argument with Ames, saying that during the argument Ames grabbed her and smashed her face into the floor," the statement notes. "According to the warrant Ames then slammed her to the ground, climbed on top of her and began choking and threatening to kill her. Ames was not on scene when the officers arrived."

Sheriff's deputies contacted Ames who agreed to meet with them to turn himself in.
