Charles County Woman Dies in Upper Marlboro Crash

The woman was a passenger in a pickup truck that crashed into a tree Saturday afternoon, according to PG County Police.

A Charles County woman died Saturday in an Upper Marlboro crash when the pickup truck she was riding in hit a tree, official said.

The Prince George’s County Police Department says Patricia Ann Joyce, 57, of Oak Glen Drive in Hughesville was a passenger in the pickup. Saturday afternoon the truck crashed near the intersection of Croom Road and Mattaponi Road. The truck was eastbound on Croom Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The passenger, Joyce, suffered critical injuries. She died a short time later at an area hospital, police say.

The driver – who has not been identified by police -- suffered minor injuries.
