Prince George’s County Public Schools is hiring full-time school bus drivers and registered nurses to work in the district.
BUS DRIVERS
Applicants interested in applying for the position of school bus driver are responsible for operating a school bus safely in driving students and authorized personnel to and from schools. Employees are also responsible for following an assigned route and schedule in the safe operation of a school bus.

Applicants can have no more than two current points on their driving record and must have a satisfactory past driving record as determined by the supervisor of transportation.

Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License, Class A or B with passenger endorsement or Class B Learners Permit with passenger and school bus endorsements; as well as the ability to meet special training and qualifications determined by the school system.
School bus drivers must have at least five years driving experience and be at least 21 years old.

SCHOOL REGISTERED NURSES
The school registered nurse performs health screenings and serves as a liaison between school personnel, family, and community to advocate for a healthy school environment. The job also provides expertise and oversight in the prevention of illness and early detection and correction of health problems, administers medications and treatments and documents and submits data through an electronic record management system.
This person will travel to and from local schools and homes of students during school hours, using their personal vehicle.
Requirements for eligible applicants include: graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing and two years of pediatric nursing experience. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and two years of pediatric nursing experience is preferred. Hires will enjoy a 190-day work schedule with holidays off, spring and winter breaks, and competitive wages.
