DC Woman Killed in Suitland Car Crash: Police
The driver of a car is in critical condition and her passenger is dead after their vehicle slammed into a pole in Suitland, police say.
SUITLAND, MD — A Washington, D.C., woman died early Saturday when the car she was riding in slammed into a pole, according to Prince George’s County Police.
Authorities say Ashley Murphy, 24, of Hartford Street in Southeast Washington died soon after the crash at an area hospital.
The fatal crash happened about 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Suitland Road and Meadowview Drive in Suitland.

Investigators say the car Murphy was in was westbound on Suitland Road when the driver lost control and the car left the road and struck a pole. The driver was critically injured; police have not released the driver's name.
