Driver Fatally Hits Pedestrian On Bladensburg Road: Prince George's Police

BLADENSBURG, MD — A pedestrian was fatally hit in the area of Landover Road and 55th Avenue, which is near a public transportation bus stop.

The incident happened Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. Prince George's County police officers were found the victim in the road with injuries. He died at the scene and the involved driver remained on the scene, according to police.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim or the driver.

Investigators said the driver hit the man in the southbound lanes of Landover Road. Northbound and southbound lanes between 56th Avenue at Landover Road and Annapolis Road at Landover Road were temporarily closed.
