Fatal Hit-And-Run In Temple Hills Prompts Prince George's Police To Ask Public For Help

Prince George's Police ask for the public's help in identifying the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run Friday in Temple Hills.

TEMPLE HILLS, MD — Police are piecing together the details of a fatal hit-and-run that happened Friday in Temple Hills.

On March 15 around 9:15 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the area of Branch Avenue and the Suitland Parkway overpass for a welfare check. They found 48-year-old Carlos Barrett Sr. of Suitland lying in the road injured. He was pronounced dead on the scene, the police department reported.

A preliminary investigation indicates the involved driver hit Barrett in the southbound lanes of Branch Avenue. The driver did not remain on the scene. At this time, police officers have not released details about the vehicle that hit Barrett, according to the police department.
