High-Speed Crash that Killed Two Lands Man in Prison
Two women died in a 2013 Prince George's County crash; the driver responsible was given two 12-year prison sentences.

A man was sentenced to two 12-year prison sentences for crashing into a minivan and killing two women in the collision.
Ronald Hayes pleaded guilty in Prince George’s County court to two counts of negligent motor vehicle manslaughter stemming from a December 2013 incident in which his speeding SUV hit a minivan carrying six passengers. Brittany Everett and Brittney Queen died; four others were seriously injured, WTOP reported.
Hayes will serve 12 years consecutively with credit for time served. He was also sentenced to five years on probation once he is released from prison.

“Mr. Hayes’ breathtaking disregard for human life resulted in the deaths of two beautiful young women, robbing them of the promise they had shown and devastating two families forever,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks told WUSA. “His cowardly action to flee the scene after the accident, still trying to evade police, tells me that he deserves every day of the sentence he received and I am pleased that we have removed him from our community.”
