MD Man Charged In VA Police Chase In Stolen Car, 4 Officers Assaulted
A College Park man is accused of ramming Virginia state troopers during a chase in a stolen car on DC area interstates.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — A College Park man is accused of ramming Virginia state troopers during a early-morning St. Patrick's Day chase in a stolen car on DC area interstates.
Virginia State Police charged Reggie P. White, 24, with multiple crimes, including four counts of assault on law enforcement, following the pursuit on March 17, according to a police news release.
About 3:41 a.m., state troopers were told a stolen vehicle might be on Route 1 in Fairfax County, which a trooper confirmed. When the officer activated his emergency lights and siren, White refused to stop, sped away and the chase began.

As the pursuit approached Route 1 and Interstate 495, White's car twice rammed a State Police patrol vehicle. The chase continued onto Interstate 495 westbound, where the suspect struck the same trooper’s vehicle a third time, and then onto Interstate 95 southbound, where the trooper’s vehicle was struck a fourth time, authorities said.
State troopers eventually struck White's car, bringing it to a stop in the southbound lanes of I-95near Exit 167. Police said White ran from his car, but was taken into custody a few minutes later.

White is charged with four counts of assault on law enforcement, four counts of felony hit and run, four counts of misdemeanor hit and run, four counts of destruction of state property, eluding law enforcement, grand larceny, driving without a license, not wearing a seatbelt, and with being a pedestrian on the interstate.
Two adult passengers in the vehicle were arrested on outstanding warrants, police said.
