Pedestrian Death Under Investigation; Witnesses Sought
Prince George's County Police say a Capitol Heights man died several days after he was hit by an SUV.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — Police have released the name of a man who died after he was hit by car; the victim is Rickey Clayton, 55, of Rollins Avenue in Capitol Heights.
The fatal accident happened about 9 a.m. Dec. 18 at the intersection of Central Avenue at Topeka Avenue in Capitol Heights. Police found Clayton suffering from critical injuries.
He was taken to an area hospital, where he died on Dec. 21, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Investigators say the striking SUV was heading westbound on Central Avenue approaching Topeka Avenue, when for reasons which remain under investigation, it crossed the double yellow center line and struck Clayton. Police are working to determine where Clayton was when he was struck.
