BOWIE, MD—With over two feet of snow covering Prince George’s County in some places and plows working overtime, it would be easy to lock your doors, close the curtains and ride out the storm, but some outstanding residents are stepping out to lend their neighbors a hand.

We asked Patch Readers if they’ve noticed any snow-melting acts of kindness in their neighborhoods. These are their stories:
- “Our neighbors brought us cupcakes! It was such a nice surprise when I opened the door and the kids said, “Happy Blizzard!” and gave us our goodies! Thanks neighbors!”
- “I went across the street last night and this morning to shovel my elderly neighbor’s driveway. Felt good to get the extra exercise, lol”
- “Haven’t been out. Following directions to the letter!”
