Prince George's School Named State Finalist In National STEM Contest

A Prince George's County school has been named a state finalist in the 14th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM competition.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Five public schools in Maryland have been named state finalists in the 14th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow STEM competition, including one in Prince George's County

Each state finalist will receive a winner's package totaling $2,500 in technology and classroom school supplies.

  • Green Street Academy (2 entries) in Baltimore
  • Kettering Middle School in Kettering
  • Lime Kiln Middle School in Fulton
  • Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City
  • Worcester Technical High School in Newark

The 300 finalists will advance to the next phase and three national winners will be chosen. They will receive a $100,000 prize package. Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a nationwide competition designed to empower students in grades 6th through 12th to leverage the power of STEM to create innovative solutions addressing critical issues in their local communities.
