School Buses Could Be Delayed This Week By Trucker Convoy Headed To DC: PGCPS
Prince George's County Public Schools officials said school buses could be delayed this week as a convoy of semi-trucks arrives in DC.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Parents of Prince George's County Public Schools students were warned by school officials that there could be school bus delays this week caused by truck convoys planning a protest in Washington, D.C.
Called "The People's Convoy," the swarm of semi-trucks will leave California Wednesday on Interstate 40 and head east. They're demanding an end to the Emergency Powers Act pertaining to the pandemic. An estimated 1,000 trucks will kick off the convoy, with more joining in as they head east. They're modeling the protest after the one that took place in Canada recently.
"This is about our rights, as well as the freedom of future generations," organizers of the convoy wrote on Facebook. "It's not about political parties, but more so about a government that has forgotten its place and has no regard for our founding fathers' instructions."

An organizer of one of the truck convoys from Pennsylvania told Fox5 that his group plans to shut down the Capital Beltway.
"We will be along the Beltway where the Beltway will be shut down," Bob Bolus told Fox5 on Sunday. Bolus, who owns a truck parts and towing business in Scranton, said he plans to leave Pennsylvania on Wednesday morning, drive through D.C., then head to the Beltway.

Bolus, a supporter of former President Donald Trump, told Fox5 that his grievances range from fuel prices to school vaccine requirements to immigration.
The arrival of the convoys in the D.C. area is expected to coincide with the State of the Union address on March 1 and follows a weekslong protest in Canada where truckers and their allies paralyzed the capital city of Ottawa.
