ICYMI: Sobriety Checkpoint Friday Night in Prince George's County

Drivers will want to keep an eye out for Prince George's County Police units this weekend.

Editor’s note: Patch is bringing this story back around Friday afternoon to remind everyone to have a fun, but safe, weekend.

Stay extra safe on the roads this weekend, and designate a driver if you’re out drinking.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Operations Division and the Town of Edmonston Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, to 3 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Officers will focus on the northern portion of the county.

The penaltiesfor a DUI or DWI in Maryland consist of potential jail time, fines, and a minimum of a 6-month license suspension.
