Suspect Sought In String Of Convenience Store Robberies Across The County: PGPD
Police are searching for the suspect in a string of convenience store robberies committed across Prince George's.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The public's help is needed in identifying the suspect Prince George's Police says is responsible for multiple robberies and thefts at seven convenience stores committed across the county, including an incident where she struggled with a county sheriff's deputy who was dragged by a vehicle across a store parking lot.
The suspect has been linked to similar robberies and thefts in Anne Arundel and Fairfax counties.
A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in these cases, according to the Prince George's Police Department.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect most recently committed a robbery on April 30 at a store in the 4700 block of Crain Highway. During the robbery, a uniformed Prince George’s County sheriff’s deputy entered the store and realized that a robbery was in progress. The deputy attempted to arrest the suspect; however, the suspect was able to escape the store and attempt to get into the passenger side of a waiting vehicle, according to the Prince George's Police Department..
The deputy followed and struggled with the suspect on the passenger side of the vehicle. As the deputy attempted to gain control of the suspect, the driver placed the vehicle into gear and took off at a high rate of speed, dragging the deputy for a short distance in the parking lot. The deputy sustained minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery, according to police.

The driver has been identified as Andrew Franklin of Washington, D.C. Franklin was arrested on May 1 and has been charged with robbery, assault and related charges.
