Suspects Sought in Capitol Heights Homicide

A $25,000 reward is being offered in Wednesday night's shooting death of Cofield Richardson Jr., police say.

A reward is being offered for leads in a fatal shooting that killed a Capitol Heights man, according to Prince George’s County Police.

The victim has been identified as Cofield Richardson Jr., 48, of Elkwood Lane in Capitol Heights. Detectives do not believe the homicide was a random act.

About 8 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 1400 block of Elkwood Lane for the report of a shooting. Officers found Richardson outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspects and motive in Richardson’s death.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.
