Elementary Teacher Reported Missing, Police Search Park Where She Went For Walks
A beloved elementary teacher has been reported missing. Police spent hours Tuesday searching a park where she enjoyed going for walks.

GREENBELT, MD — A Prince George's County elementary school teacher has been reported missing.
Mariame Toure Sylla, who will turn 60 next month, was last seen in a condominium community in the 6500 block of Lake Park Drive in Greenbelt where she lived July 29 around 8 p.m. She stands 5'5 and weighs 135 pounds.
Neighbors told WUSA that she enjoyed walking in the Schrom Hills Park, which is located across from where she lives. The Dora Kennedy French Immersion School third grade teacher told her son that she was going for a walk before sunset prayer, but she never returned for prayer.

"She is very beloved," Melinda Conrad-Brown told WUSA9. "She's the sweetest person. She's always smiling."
The park was closed for hours Tuesday as various police agencies searched for the teacher. K-9 units were called in. Missing posters have been hung in her neighborhood and at the park.
