Three people have been arrested in the murder of a Laurel man, which police describe as an argument during a child custody visitation that escalated to a fatal shooting.

Anthony Donnell Minick, 22, of the unit block of Morris Drive in Laurel, was shot about 8:26 p.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of Sudlersville South in Laurel. He was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Investigators say Zelina Sharrieff Smith, 45, of the 13000 block of Avebury Drive in Laurel, drove her brother, Daniel Xavier Stephens, her son, Tyrik Zachary Smith, and a juvenile to the 3400 block of Sudlersville South so Tyrik Smith could see his child.

During the visit an altercation occurred between Tyrik Smith and Minick, police say. The men fought, then Stephens pulled out a handgun and allegedly shot Minick.
