Woman Killed When Car Crashes Into Tree

The one-vehicle accident happened in Morningside. Prince George's County Police are still trying to determine why the crash happened.

A Morningside woman -- Lori Debra Wood-Knox, 62, of Morgan Road – was killed when her vehicle crashed into a tree.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, officers with the Morningside Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department were called to a crash at the intersection of Allies Road and Randolph Road. Officers found Wood-Knox suffering from critical injuries; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say Wood-Knox’s vehicle was on Allies Road, when for reasons which remain under investigation, her van left the roadway and struck a tree.
