PGCPS students face persistent bus routing challenges as leaders work to improve new system (dbknews.com subscription) — Families in College Park and across Prince George's County are still dealing with missing bus assignments and long delays as PGCPS struggles to fix its new routing system, even after clearing a massive backlog. During a telephone town hall, leaders apologized, detailed app and staffing problems, and outlined plans to shorten ride times and restore reliable service. A separate College Park City Council vote on a disputed $300,000 business grant was canceled.
   

2. Multiple apartment buildings without power as thunderstorm rolls through College Park (dbknews.com) — Power outages hit The Standard and parts of Terrapin Row late Thursday night, leaving some College Park student residents in the dark with little communication from management. New Award Celebrates Advancement at UMD as 'Team… (umd.edu) — Staff members at the University of Maryland in College Park have been honored with a new Partner-in-Advancement Award for helping drive the campus's major fundraising campaign. Each recipient directed a $1,000 contribution to a College Park–related fund, supporting everything from student mental health and scholarships to alumni engagement and special initiatives that benefit the local university community.

The 10 Best Colleges In Maryland, According To New 2027 Ranking (patch.com) — College Park's flagship University of Maryland campus ranks second among Maryland colleges in Niche's new 2027 list, trailing only Johns Hopkins. The campus also scores highly for criminal justice, public health, and athletics, reflecting strong academics and student life that many local residents and families may weigh when considering higher education options close to home.
