Laurel Man Driving Wrong Way Killed In Overnight HoCo Crash

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 29-year-old Laurel man was killed in a car crash Sunday at approximately 12:30 a.m. The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Route 175 east of Tamar Drive. Alejandro Herrera Guzman was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima west in the eastbound lanes and hit a 2018 Jeep Renegade head-on, according to a police report.

Guzman was taken the hospital and pronounced dead. He was the only person in the Altima.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is continuing, the police department noted. The eastbound lanes of Route 175 at Tamar Drive were closed for approximately three hours in the overnight.
