A broad comparison of 180 cities looks at affordability, schools, safety, and recreation, underscoring Columbia's strong overall quality of life relative to many other U.S. communities. 
• Teen surrenders to police in connection with Columbia hit-and-run that injured ICE agent (wmar2news.com) — A teenager has surrendered to Howard County Police after a hit-and-run in Columbia that injured a federal immigration officer outside Eataliano Market & Deli earlier this month. Authorities say the 18-year-old allegedly tried to flee during an ICE operation, pinning an officer between vehicles before speeding off. He is now held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center on traffic and federal charges.
