Person Trapped Under Dump Truck on Route 32 Ramp: Officials
Ramp from Interstate 95 was closed, Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reports.

One person was taken to shock trauma after being pinned under a dump truck, causing a ramp closure on Interstate 95 near Columbia Monday afternoon, according to officials.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which was reported at 12:53 p.m. on the ramp from I-95 north to eastbound MD 32, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).
By 1:45 p.m., the victim had been rescued from under the dump truck and was being taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center by land, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Previously, a medevac had been requested, the fire and rescue team reported, but the department subsequently reported the helicopter was cancelled due to weather conditions; there was a freezing rain advisory in effect for Howard County.
The ramp from I-95 north to MD 32 east remained closed for cleanup for at least an hour, according to CHART. Vehicles were still able to get by on I-95 north; but access to the Route 32 east ramp was closed and traffic was congested on I-95 between MD 216 and MD 32, WNEW reported.

Howard County first responders advised drivers to avoid the area Monday afternoon.
