Police said there are more patrols at shopping centers, on roads and in neighborhoods; and officers are on foot, in cars, on bikes, in uniform and in plain clothes.
Package Protection
Residents can take steps to protect their packages from so-called package pirates. Here are some tips from the Howard County Police Department:
- Track shipments. Try to be home when packages are scheduled to arrive or have them delivered to work.
- Ask a neighbor to pick up your package until you arrive home.
- Report suspicious behavior, persons and vehicles immediately to 911. If a vehicle is involved, try to note the make, model, tag number and direction of travel.
